In the heart of the Vértes, at the gate of the strictly protected Fáni Valley, lies Vérteskozma. Our cozy hunting lodge offers 2 double rooms and 1 triple room, primarily for hunting guests. The building thus provides a total of 7 beds; the triple room has its own private bathroom, and another bathroom serves the two double rooms. From the center of the Vértes Nature Park, Hungary's first nature park, you can easily reach the significant natural attractions of the Vértes: the Haraszt Hill botanical and geological nature trail, the Vidrafű nature trail showcasing protected plant and animal species of the Csíkvarsa meadow, or the Juhdöglő Valley forest reserve. To fill your time between hunts, the Count Fülöp Merán Hunting and Forestry Museum, established by Vérteserdő Zrt. in Csákberény, and the adjacent Panorama Nature Trail are excellent options.
Szentgyörgyvári Guesthouse
A hunting lodge located in a forest setting in the northern part of the Vértes Mountains offers 6 double rooms. The building has a total capacity of 12 guests, with three rooms sharing one bathroom with a separate entrance. The hunting lodge, accessible only via private forest roads, is an ideal location for those seeking hunting or active relaxation. A TV is available in the common dining area. There is no internet access in the house, and mobile networks also do not reach this area. Among the significant natural attractions of the Vértes, accessible via shorter or longer hikes, are the Pátrácos Primeval Beech Forest, and among the historical sights of the Vértes, the Majk Cell Closure of the Camaldolese Order, the ruins of the former Benedictine Abbey of Vértesszentkereszt, the renovated Csókakő Castle, and other castles and castle ruins that once formed a unified defensive system and now have varying accessibility (Várgesztes, Gerencsér Castle, Oroszlánkő Castle).
Cold-weather accommodation hunting lodge
The hunting lodge is located on the outskirts of Tatabánya, a few minutes from the M1 motorway, in a beautiful, quiet forest setting. The house has 3 double rooms and 2 single rooms available for guests. The building is situated along important hiking trails, but it can only be accessed by car via a private forest road. The multi-story hunting lodge offers a total capacity of 8 people. The downstairs room has a separate bathroom, and upstairs, two rooms share a bathroom. There is a TV in the common dining area, but no Wi-Fi. It offers excellent opportunities for active relaxation, with local attractions accessible via hiking trails starting from the hunting lodge: the Turul statue erected for the Millennium, the Ranzinger Vince lookout tower, and the Körtvélyesi lookout tower. The lakeside programs in Tata, located about 10 km from the hunting lodge, provide fulfilling leisure activities in all seasons.
VAJDA JÁNOS FORESTRY SCHOOL
The school is named after János Vajda, the 19th century poet who spent his childhood in the Váli Valley. We wanted the children who come to us to have the same experiences and absorb the same professional knowledge through real play as the poet did during his adventures in the woods.
Our forestry school provides an opportunity to introduce sustainable forest management, wildlife management and the forest community. The aim of forestry is to introduce today's young people to the professional knowledge and to show that the forest is a treasure in itself. Learning about it, the mystery of the wildlife that surrounds them and the many walks in the forest will give them unforgettable moments that will often accompany them throughout their lives. Not to mention the fact that in today's fast-paced world, the role of forest schools is also to take a breath and see how much wonder is all around us, if we just pause for a moment to rest among the trees.
MALOMERDŐ PENSION
For our nature-loving guests, we provide year-round tranquillity for carefree relaxation away from the noise of the city. In the embrace of nature, we offer an optimal location for small conferences, team building courses, meetings, trainings, corporate events and various family events. The conference room is perfectly suitable for up to 80 people for the aforementioned and other gatherings.
The guest house is child-friendly with a wooden playground, streetball court, football pitch, bicycles, table football and billiards. Outdoor barbecue and cooking facilities are available for all events.
ESTERHÁZY INN
The Count Esterházy Móric Ecotourism Center and Tourist Hostel welcomes beginner and experienced adventurers alike, all year round, who wish to discover the forest through its diverse, playful locations and educational programs. Our event hall can accommodate larger family and corporate events, as well as weddings. Our restaurant awaits hungry guests with home-style dishes inspired by Swabian cuisine and courteous service. For those who cannot get enough of the Vértes region's beauty and wish to enjoy our hospitality further, we offer accommodation in our 52-bed tourist hostel!
ARBORETUM KEY-HOUSE IN AGOSTYÁN
A brand new „dressing gown” awaits visitors looking for a truly unique experience in the key-house on the shores of the arboretum lake. The 10-person accommodation is a great opportunity for families, small groups of retirees or students, hiking groups to spend their free time in a peaceful environment in Gerecse, with full-comfort amenities. With the support of the Active and Ecotourism Development Centre, the Vérteserdő Zrt. has developed the key-house in the „Pearl of Gerecse” within the framework of the Téry Ödön National Tourist Lodge Development Programme.
